A fatal collision along Harvard Avenue on the evening of November 6th left the family of a 19-year-old cyclist mourning the loss of their son.
Stamford police say the cyclist was thrown violently into the air after being struck by a Cadillac being driven by a Bethany resident, aged 46. The cyclist was then struck by a second car, an Infiniti, being driven by a Stamford resident, aged 32.
The man was transported immediately to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
The collisions occurred just before midnight. The name of the victim has not been released.
Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth described the incident, noting that one of the drivers did not remain at the scene long enough to speak with police.
“Both vehicles initially stopped at the scene, the operator of the Infiniti ended up leaving the scene prior to speaking to the police, but he was located a short time later and interviewed. The operator of the Cadillac stayed on the scene and spoke with investigating officers,” Booth said.
Stamford Police are asking anyone with information about the collision to contact them at 203-977-4712.
